Artist Interview: Julia Samson
Julia Samson, a printmaker based in New York, is dedicated to her art project SulitScratch, which supports global conservation initiatives. Julia particularly focuses on lesser-known species that suffer from limitations in population and exposure, aiming to expand public awareness.

Since 2023, her works have been featured in several significant exhibitions, including the VARIOUS physical exhibition at The Holy Art in London, the Art on Loop exhibition in New York, the 2023 Ecological Citizen, and the International Wildlife Art Open at Wild Heart Gallery.
Julia is a member of the International Printmaking Artists Association and the Art and Conservation Association. She also works in sustainable finance at an investment bank. Julia collaborates with global conservation organisations in the UK, aiming to raise awareness and deepen understanding of their unique contributions to biodiversity.
Through her art, she strives to integrate different species into cohesive works that highlight the interconnectedness of all living beings.
She wants to convey that every species, regardless of its population size, possesses inherent value and contributes to our ecosystem.
Julia aims not only to celebrate the beauty and diversity of life through her art but also to inspire social action and support conservation efforts.
By emphasising the close relationships among all species, she hopes to encourage people to adopt a more inclusive and respectful attitude toward every life form in nature, ensuring that all forms of life receive the attention and protection they deserve.
